School Begins

Today was the first day of school! I was actually really excited because I want to get into more of a routine here. I am taking one Year 3 course at DIT through Trinity (a well-known college in Dublin). This particular course, Nutrition 3, is taught at St. James' Hospital. Let me illustrate to you briefly the location of the hospital. After walking a brisk 20 minutes down Rathmines Road into Portobello, I asked a building constructor for directions. He began telling me, and then interrupted himself by saying, "You're going all the way to St. James?" ...in a ' you seriously don't know what you're getting into' kind of tone.

I am a very fast walker, so actually, the walk only took me 1 hr 10 min with a few quick stops along the way to ask for directions. However, I was slightly overheated upon arrival. And, Yes Dad, I did make it to the hospital on time. I was fully prepared for an extra long walk:) You'd be proud.

Here is a photo of the swans I saw on the canal along the way.

I cannot think of anything worth mentioning aside from the fact that everything we covered in class today seemed to mimic classes that I have already taken at Purdue. Even though it is human nature to take the 'easy way out', I am hoping for 'somewhat' of a challenge come these next few weeks. I just hope that the 'somewhat' is nothing more and nothing less than well, .....just 'somewhat'.
